Individual Counseling

Individual therapy sessions provide a safe, neutral and compassionate space to address a wide-range of topics. A typical session is 60 minutes long, and may be comprised of a combination of talk-therapy, skill-building and education. Recommendations might include weekly initial sessions, or referral for more intensive services, depending on the issues and concerns brought up during the assessment process. Please see below for standard fees. I also offer fees on a sliding scale on a case by case basis. Call to find out more!

Assessment and Referral

A biopsychosocial assessment is a comprehensive interview that covers a wide range of topics, including substance use and family history, to get a better idea of who you are, and what your needs may be. Assessments typically take between 1-2 hours, depending on your history. Your first session will usually consist of an initial assessment.

I am qualified to provide SAP assessment and case management. Payments plans are available.

Family and Couples Counseling

The quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives, and our problems do not exist outside the context of our relationships with the ones closest to us. The path towards healing often includes involvement of part or all of the family system in the process of therapy. Sessions are typically 60 minutes and may cover a wide range of issues and concerns.

Women's Recovery Group

Moment-by-Moment in Women’s Recovery: A Mindfulness-Based Approach to Relapse Prevention (MBRP-W) is a group intervention that enables women in recovery to cope with the myriad stresses in their lives. It fosters the capacity to observe – with an open, curious and non-judgmental mind – how stress plays out, moment by moment, in the body, thoughts and emotions. By refining self-awareness at these three levels, MBRP-W teaches a healthy way of working with the urges, cravings and triggers that lead to relapse.

I do not currently work with insurance companies. However, I offer a lower rate and sliding scale payments for those without insurance, and for those who prefer to keep their private health information between you and your mental health care provider. In addition, private payment allows us to avoid the frustration of insurance companies that may dictate your course of treatment despite best practices. Have questions? Call or e-mail me to find out more. I will work with you to make prioritizing your wellness affordable!

Many clients are reimbursed directly from their insurance company (some clients report reimbursement rates between 50%-90%). You will be provided with a monthly Superbill (Statement for Insurance Reimbursement) that contains your service and diagnostic code, as well as all the information the insurance company will need to reimburse you for the maximum amount of each session.  If you have any reimbursement questions, I recommend that you contact your insurance company first, as they can best answer your concerns regarding coverage.
